In Šmarjeta near Šmarješke Toplice there is a wine fountain, where a tasting of locally produced wines takes place. You can try Cviček, white wine from the Lower Carniola region, red wine Žametna Črnina (velvet black), and Modra Frankinja (Blue Franconian).

The world’s wine speciality is Cviček, made from four types of grapes, a variety of white and red varieties. It contains a low level of alcohol(8.5 to 10%) and has a pleasant, fresh acidity. Due to its high acidity, it is an excellent accompaniment to meat and traditional local cuisine. Cviček is a unique wine, a Slovenian cultural symbol and has been legally protected as a product of traditional denomination.
